چکیده

Surface analysis techniques have been used to investigate tin oxide-coated soda lime glass specimens prior and subsequent to their exposure to DC bias, heat, and humidity. All specimens reported here comprise the following layered structure: tin oxide/silicon oxycarbide/glass. Depth profiling using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) clearly shows the interfacial regions in both control samples and samples exposed to the above-mentioned conditions (stressed). Control samples show distinct and relatively compact interfacial regions as well as an intact silicon oxycarbide diffusion barrier. Stressed films, however, show more diffuse interfacial regions and a physically and chemically altered silicon oxycarbide diffusion barrier. This deterioration of the diffusion barrier is proposed to be a prerequisite event to enable tin oxide delamination.

Two-Stage Chemical Deposition of Oxide Films

Two-stage chemical deposition (TSCD) technique is used to produce ZnO, Mn2O3 and NiO films on soda-lime glass (SL-G) from an aqueous solution of zinc, manganese and nickel complex, respectively. The TSCD method enables the deposition of metal oxide thin films with a thickness which can be controlled during the preparation procedure. The ZnO, Mn2O3 and NiO thin films were polycrystalline films w...

Investigation of Physical Properties of e-Beam Evaporated CdTe Thin Films for Photovoltaic Application

CdTe thin films with 2.8 µm thickness were deposited by electron beam evaporation method. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to characterize the films. The results of AFM analysis revealed that the CdTe films have uniform surface. CdTe thin films were heat-treated by SnCl2 solution. Structural analysis using XRD s...

EFFECTS OF SUBSTRATE TEMPERATURE ON THE STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF ZnO:Al THIN FILM DEPOSITED BY ELECTROSTATIC SPRAY DEPOSITION

Zinc Oxide and Al-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films were prepared by Electrostatic spray deposition method on soda lime, glass substrates. The effects of substrate temperatures (300, 350, 400 and 450 C) on the Structural properties of the films were investigated. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that the films were polycrystalline, having hexagonal (Wurtzite) structure irrespective of their substr...

Atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition of transparent conducting films of fluorine doped zinc oxide and their application to amorphous silicon solar cells

Transparent conducting ZnO:F was deposited as thin films on soda lime glass substrates by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (CVD) deposition at substrate temperatures of 480–500 C. The precursors diethylzinc, tetramethylethylenediamine and benzoyl fluoride were dissolved in xylene. The solution was nebulized ultrasonically and then flash vaporized by a carrier gas of nitrogen prehe...
